Selected as the featured Bike Artist for 2009, the magazines run one article a year dedicated to bike art . Joanne Morris did a wonderful write up and I will be forever greatful. Some excerpts from Joanne's article follow:
Nature and steel, seemingly diametrically opposed as subjects, are two of John's sources of inspiration that, for him, seamlessly coexist. Nature is king and our world the simple things that usually go unnoticed by most are now my never-ending source of inspiration, says John. On the other hand, Steel and art are from man's nature and I've always been inspired by the beautiful works people can create, he says. John sees bikes as part of the art world, steel art he calls them. He finds them amazing because, unlike traditional art and displays, bikes are designed to be interactive, in short, you can ride them. In making his shots of bikes, John's technique and perspective comes from his goal to capture the vision and dedication of the builder. To achieve this, he treats the metal as an icon, focusing only on the machine and eliminating all people in view. (Notice the angles of his shots.) He says, I found that the closer I got to the ground, the more heads and bodies I could hide. View a larger version of the image here.

The Adams Views website was featured in the September 2008 issue of Shutterbug magazine by Joe Farace. Some excerpts from Joe’s article follow:
“....even more impressive is the quality of these high dynamic range images that live in a dreamy twilight zone somewhere between photography and a David Hockney photo-realistic painting.” "...But it’s the photographs that are the star in Adams galaxy. You’ll never look at a sunrise or sunset the same way after you see the images in the “Sun, Sky and Water” gallery. The intense colors showcased in stylish compositions take you to a world not at all that different than that what J.M.W. Turner painted.” “...The images like many of the classic cars they depict are Happy Days on acid and exist in an alternate universe where art and machine collide” | ||
