At the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum artist John E. Adams showcases his photography highlighting coastal waters and boats.

Earlier today, the public had the chance to meet artist John Adams and hear his artistic process from beginning to end.

His artwork displayed today is from his 2017 completed project ‘An American Brushstroke- the Trawlers of the Gulf States.’

Adams captured amazing layers of commercial working crafts in the shrimping industry. This project represents over 500 hours of post-production work time. “Personally, I was drawn to them because I started my career working in salmon fisheries and sears of fisheries in Northern California. Then I went into the Navy but I just always loved the boats and I looked at it and this is so much work and they’re just beautiful, the lines on them and they were made to work but to me they just grab me.”

The exhibit will be open from August 5th until September 30th.
